Hoo needs spell chek?

A few snippets of some recent freshman writing assignments (and a few editorial comments):

I was peddling my bike down the street. (How much did she get for it?)
McJagger danced around that stage. (Oh yeah! He's from that Scottish band!)
After the game, we were exhausted and a little horse. (Where did the pony get involved?)

And probably my favorite:
While I cooked the chicken, the pot of green pees boiled over on the stove. (Remind me never to have this student cook for me.)

But, lest you think that this only happens to students, when I was at the gym not too long ago, I was reading the closed captioning on CSPAN. They were televising a vote, and said that one of the Congressmen voted "neigh."

When did we start electing horses? (Or would that be hoarses?)
