So Why Do We Go to College?

Conversation from 6th hour today:

Student: If you weren't a teacher, what would you be?

Me: I would be a professional student.

(other random questions about what classes I would take, etc.)

Student: Wouldn't you run out of things to learn??

Me: No! The more you learn the more you discover you don't know.

Student (in all seriousness): Do you mean that once you graduate from college you don't know everything?

Me (trying very very hard not to laugh) No, you don't. Not by a long shot.

Student: Then what's the point in going?


And I am left nearly speechless.
