Back from the...well...

Hey friends -

A few gems from some freshman writing assignments:

"I finely found you!" (apparently not on a large scale, though)
"You have know idea!"
"He had a nice meal of food and whine." (Did he eat with 3-year-olds?)
"He was placed in a chair and bonded to it." (Elmers?)

On a test question about how to read well:
"Read with the light on - not in the dark."

And my personal favorite:

"Now just bare with me..."

teehee :) Thanks for the laughs... I can identify more than ever ;)

Teaching is amazing. I love it! Today I had a couple small victories-- one of my students who is the least proficient in English read a WHOLE SENTENCE BY HERSELF, which surprised everyone. And she got the question right, and spelled it right! Yay!

The other victory was that when the bell rang, the kids didn't move-- they were engaged in their work and actually waited for me to give instructions, instead of flying out the door like they usually do at lunchtime. :D Woohoo!!
